Andrea D Mineo: Capturing Beauty in Brushstrokes

 

🎨 About Me: I’m an artist with a passion for oil painting, a love affair that began when my parents gifted me painting lessons at the tender age of 9. I earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Delaware in Art Education and went on to teach high school art. I supplemented my education with various classes which included the School of Visual Art in NYC.

I later founded Mineo Graphics, a graphic arts agency specializing in architectural renders using illustration, pen and ink, water color and airbrushing. When I am not able to paint, I find myself visualizing a painting.

🌍 Adventures Abroad: My artistic education took me to Florence, Italy, There, I immersed myself in the rich history of art, surrounded by masterpieces and centuries-old techniques. Extensive travel through Europe further fueled my creativity, allowing me to absorb diverse influences and styles.

🌟 Inspirations: Among the numerous artists that I admire, Cézanne, Manet and John Singer Sargent are some of my favorite inspirations. Cézanne’s exploration of form and color resonates deeply, while Sargents’s mastery of light inspires my own brushstrokes. And, Manet’s paintings create such a mood that leaves the viewer wondering and contemplating the scene. I studied under Lorraine Minetto,  Andrey Tamarchenko and currently study with Joel Mitnick. Guided by talented teachers, I continue to explore the world of art.

🖌️ Mediums and Styles: While I dabbled in various artistic endeavors, my heart always gravitated toward oil painting. The play of light and shadow, the dance of color—it all fascinates me. Although I feel my artistic leanings are ever evolving, my work exists somewhere between traditional realism and Impressionism. I’m always striving to capture the magic of light, shadow color and value. I work to compose a piece that allows viewers eye to happily travel through the painting.

🌟 Exhibitions and Awards: I’ve exhibited my paintings at various venues, including the Ridgewood Art Institute and achieved second place of show, at the Art Center of Northern NJ’s juried exhibition. My paintings are found in private collections throughout the US.

🎨 Current Canvas: Today, I continue to create, driven by the beauty I find in the color of light and shadow, the way sunlight filters through leaves, the way a cityscape transforms at twilight. My goal is to apply my artistic experience to all my work, which includes still life, landscape, people and pets.
